Unreal conditional.

馃榿UNREAL CONDITIONAL.馃榿

Unreal conditionals, also known as the second conditional, are used to talk about hypothetical or unlikely situations in the present or future. They typically follow this structure:

"If + past simple verb, would + base form verb."

example:

"If she were a super hero, she would fly."

In this sentence, "If she were a superhero" is the hypothetical condition in the present (which is unlikely, since the person is not really a superhero), and "she would fly" is the imaginary consequence that would follow that condition.
